Builders' & construction waste in Hackney
Rubble, plasterboard, timber, packaging and strip-out debris removed from live sites and finished jobs.
On a live site the waste is not the problem — the space it occupies is. A pile of strip-out debris in a small Hackney back garden stops the next trade from working, which is why site clearance is usually about timing rather than volume.
What we take
- Rubble, hardcore, brick and broken concrete
- Plasterboard — which must be kept separate by law
- Timber, skirting, joinery offcuts and pallets
- Packaging, plastic wrap and cardboard
- Strip-out debris: old kitchens, bathrooms, carpets, ceilings
Plasterboard is a legal separation
Gypsum cannot be landfilled with general waste — it has to be kept apart and handled on its own route. Every builder knows it and it is still the commonest reason a mixed load costs more than it should. Keep it in its own pile and the whole job gets cheaper.
Weight against volume
Rubble is the opposite of a house clearance: heavy and compact. A vehicle reaches its legal weight limit long before it looks full, so a rubble job is quoted on what it weighs rather than on how much room it takes. That is a limit set by the law and the vehicle, not by us.
Why not a skip
On a Hackney terrace a skip needs a permit, a bay, lights and somewhere legal to put it — and it fills with other people's waste overnight. Clearance by van means nothing sits on the street, and you can call us at the point the pile is in the way rather than planning around a container.
Documentation
Waste transfer notes kept and copied to you. If you are the principal contractor, that paperwork is part of your duty of care, not an optional extra.
Builders' & construction waste — the usual questions
Can you come to a live site?
Yes, and repeat visits through a project are normal. Tell us the stage and we will fit the clearance around the trades.
Do you take plasterboard?
Yes, kept separate as the law requires. Keeping it separate on site is what stops it inflating the cost of the whole load.
Is rubble priced differently?
It is priced on weight rather than volume, because a vehicle hits its legal weight limit long before it looks full.
Can you clear a garden full of debris with no side access?
Yes — it is carried through the property with the route covered, or over a wall where that is genuinely easier.
Will I get paperwork?
Waste transfer documentation, kept and copied to you on request. For a contractor it is part of the duty of care.
House clearance
Whole houses and single rooms cleared — end-of-tenancy, probate, downsizing, or years of accumulated stuff in a back bedroom.
Flat & estate clearance
Upper-floor flats, walk-ups and estate blocks, carried down by hand where there is no lift and nowhere to park.
Bulky waste collection
Single large items or a handful of them — sofas, mattresses, wardrobes — collected when you do not want to wait for a council slot.
Garden waste clearance
Green waste, hedge cuttings, turf, soil, decking and the shed that finally gave up. Composted or recycled where it can be.
Tell us what needs clearing.
What it is, which floor it is on, and where a van can stand. That is enough for a proper quote — and the quote is what you pay, not a starting point.
